with God before me, who can come against me?
The Lord is my light and my salvation; of whom should I be afraid? The Lord is my strength and my shield; of whom should I fear? Source of all life, you are my life. My very soul trembles at the sound of your Voice; my heart yearns and longs for the courts of the Lord. He is my hope. All my trust is in Him.
Before we were formed in our mother’s womb; God had known of us. He knew the plans He had for each one of us, and those plans are to do good and not evil. To prosper us and to enrich our lives with courage and strength; His loving hand is ever upon us; He is our Rock.
His mercies new every morning restore my soul its pleasure and my heart its content. With words on my spirit can hear, groaning by day and by night for the courts of the Lord, longing with ever increasing love to see His face; the Lord sets before us a banquet; and that banquet is Love.
Not that we have loved God, but that God loved us first; redeeming us from all our sins; washing us clean in the Blood of the Lamb. God, who is love, shows us His love, in this, He sent His only Son to be the savior of the world. Since love comes from God and is God, should we not love one another with the same love we have been given and so heal the wounds and scars as we are able, in a hurting and dying world? Our hearts have been ravished for love of God; our souls cry out in constant want; Lord, help us to do as you have done; free us from the bonds of strife and despair and lift us Lord in body and spirit into your arms, where we can see as you see, and so love as you love.
The Lord is my Deliverer; He is my Shepherd. He makes me lie down and rest among the green grasses of the meadows. He restores my soul with fresh waters; He feeds my heart with a banquet the likes of which no earthly meal I have eaten. He is my Hope and my Strength; on my own I can do nothing, but with Christ beside me, leading me, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
What do we have to say about this present age? Terrors and evil abound; should we tremble in fear and loathing? Would it not be right to express the love of God and fellowship we share in union with Christ to those who are hungry, thirsting for peace, that they too may come to love as Christ has loved them?
Our battle is not against one another; though our earthly eyes would deceive us so. It is against the rulers and evil forces in the heavenly realms who wander the earth seeking the ruin of souls. Beloved, let us shake off the cords and bindings of bitterness and strife, cease contention and quarreling and seek to make peace with one another. Everyone who loves comes from God and knows God and those who do not love do not come from God or do they know God, for God is love.
The Lord is my Song and my soul’s delight. One day in the courts of the Lord is better than a thousand days in the world. His love surrounds us as with a hedge of protection; under the shelter of the Almighty there is rest for our souls.
Open the eyes of our hearts Lord, that we may see, we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, those who have gone before us in the faith. Take my hand o God and lead me. Though I know I will stumble and fall, and at times, wander in darkness, I will not be afraid, for I know you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Led by the power of your good Spirit within me, let me love as you have loved me.
O Lord God, let the words of my mouth run rich with praise of your love and Your Name! Let the meditations of my heart be filled to overflowing with thoughts of love; May the mercies of your love flow out of my belly, giving rise to compassion and gentleness, seeking not my own, but the well being of those around me.
For God so loved the world He sent Jesus; not to condemn the world but to save it. That those who would believe in His Name would have life, and not just life, but abundant life; He was the Word of God and He was with God before the world was; He came from the Father to show us the way. His Word is Truth. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
The Lord is my Rock. The world calls Him many names; I call Him, Jesus. Lord of all, Savior. Messiah and Master of my heart and soul, for He has purchased me with a terrible cost; now and forever, no thought or word of mine is unknown to Him. His eyes are on the sparrow and they watch over me.
If I have all knowledge and possess all wealth and have not love; what have I? Let us learn to love one another with heartfelt love and not empty phrases; putting off the cloaks of defense and offense and leading lives of righteousness that comes by God for God is love. Amen.
