| What We Do |
|
“Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:29-31
At Glory To God American Catholic Church we celebrate the truth and joy of Jesus Christ in every worship service. We celebrate the many aspects of what Jesus told the world to do “love one another as I have loved you.” That for us does not mean, that we watch a brother or sister in need go without, or that we turn our backs on the lonely and discarded. We embrace their living journeys as Jesus has embraced the people of His day, with love, compassion, encouragement and mercy. We have an outreach to the GLTB community and to the Hispanic Communities as well. There is no one who is not welcome at Glory to God. In the celebration of the Lord’s Table, none are turned away, but all are made welcome that they may take their rightful place in the Body of Christ. We must remember that Jesus comes to us where we are, in order to bring us to where He is.
Our Lord was about love and going about doing good to all people. Here at Glory To God American Catholic Church, there are teams to pray for you, teams to minister to Seniors, teams to work with children, and teams to minister to the sick and grieving. No one is left out, because Jesus did not leave any out. As Jesus is the great example not the great exception, can we do any less? |
